Hugo's Book

Hugo’s Book is inspired by the creativity of a young boy named Dillon Helbig.

When Dillon was eight years old, he wrote and illustrated his own 81-page book called The Adventures of Dillon Helbig’s Crismis. He worked hard on it during his Christmas break and really wanted people to read it. So one day he quietly placed his handmade story on a shelf at his local public library — and it stayed!

The librarians were so impressed that they added Dillon’s book to the library catalog so anyone with a library card can check it out. By the end of January, there were dozens of people waiting to read the book!

Dillon’s story shows that sharing your ideas can make an impact, even when you’re young. He didn’t wait for someone else to publish his book — he took action and inspired others along the way.
